The AICPA has submitted a compendium of suggested legislative changes to the congressional tax committees in an effort to get Congress to correct a variety of problems with tax law. The proposals include streamlining the large number of education incentives, simplifying the standard mileage rates and repealing the 20% partial payment requirement for offers in compromise.
